Here is a list of graphics-based chat programs you'll have fun kicking around in.There offers a 3D chat environment - This is a new 3D graphics-based online community that is now open for public beta testing. There is unlike any other chat program online in that it enables users full body movement giving them the ability to run, walk, and experience the sensation of riding jeeps, hoverboards, and jetpacks.
OnChat virtual community - OnChat is a 2D graphics-based chat program that allows you to create your own “Avatar” to represent how you look online. They offer a number of channels (chat rooms) to visit, including an area specifically for teens and one for adults. Users can also create their own rooms and web pages.
Worlds Chat - With more than 100 Avatars to choose from, this 3D animated chat environment offers users a quality experience. Although limited to Windows and NT users, this is a quick download and easy to activate. First time users will find the user panel self-explanatory.
The Manor - The Manor is a visual chat program that enables you to create a unique Avatar. Designed by Mad Wolf Software, this is a new program under development. There is a free version that has some limitations as well as an annual fee-based subscription that offers users full access to all chat features.
The Realm Online - For those who enjoy RPG (Role Playing Games), this is a nifty graphics-based chat that continues to thrive. The 2-D environment is easy to explore. Whether you enjoy fighting monsters, finding hidden treasure, or just chatting, there is something here to keep you amused and busy.
Ultima Online - This is the ultimate in online role playing games. If you take your RPGs seriously, you'll want to take a look at UO. There is an extensive community of die-hards, so be prepared to go through the usual "newbie" experience. However, once you're initiated, it's a great graphics-based game.
The Sims Online - Sims fans waited with great anticipation for the launch of Sims Online. For those already indoctrinated into The Sims World, you’ll find the activities familiar. New users will quickly adapt to this fast-paced virtual-reality world.
AlphaWorld - Established in 1995, AlphaWorld touts itself as the oldest collaborative virtual world on the Internet. Architecture is the focus of this chat program. Users homestead virtual land and build their own creation using special tools provided by the program.
Mu - Continent of Legend, is an online 3D RPG game. My nephews introduced me to this program and as I watched them explore the features it reminded me a great deal of Diablo. The graphics are pretty nifty but this isn't a program for a wimpy computer or dial-up access. It takes a serious commitment to download all the files.

Here are a few online games your kids might enjoy.SissyFight - This is a hugely addictive graphics-based game created for kids, but adults may find it oddly compelling as well. Imagine a schoolyard run amuck. Each player is given ten self-esteem points. The object is to eliminate your opponents points leaving the final two victors best-friends.
NeoPets - NeoPets is a hugely popular game where you choose a virtual pet to care for and feed. The object of the game is to keep your pet alive and healthy. There are a number of other activities to enjoy, including chat and games where you can meet other virtual pet owners inhabiting NeoPets.
Cartoon Orbit - Cartoon Network has created an online trading card game for kids offering controlled chat, collecting, trading, and auctions. There are also a number of other games to play, with new ones featured or added on a regular basis.
