| Welcome to Spelvin.com and my little corner of the virtual world. My website is under construction, so please excuse the mess. While most of the site is functioning, the web-waifs still have some tidying to do. The name "spelvin" comes from my background in theatre. When I first discovered online communities back in 1995, the name "spelvin" seemed a fitting handle for my first AOL nick. George/Georgina Spelvin is the name stage actors used when they wanted to work a show anonymously. It is a name that isn't used as often now, but I remember knowing a few "spelvins" cropping up in various shows. Typically, they were actors playing more than one role in a play or they were union actors who were working non-union theatre houses. Spelvin seemed a fitting moniker for the virtual world and has served me well over the years. The website now serves as a home for my freelance work and provides an opportunity to share some tips and tricks I've learned over the years. Future plans for the site include providing media links, special event planning tips, and resources for writers. The artwork seen on this page is by Nathan Wagoner, who gifted me a number of paintings he created especially for an online project I was involved with. Future updates will include other images he created. 1-20-07 |
